Humor and funny one line jokes only became socially acceptable, and therefore deemed worthy of consideration, about a hundred years ago. In the late nineteenth century, after a period beginning in the early 1,700’s of nothing but boot faced rhetoric and grave demean-ours on all important occasions, a sense of humor became a social asset.
