Religion is one of my favorite topics for humor. The deeper you delve into a specific faith, the more material it will provide for a good laugh. Here are a few familiar religions with some unfamiliar rituals.

Christmas in July is a marketers’ dream come true. Get the public to think about cold weather; the idea is to arouse the Christmas spirit despite scalding temperatures.
Bill Hicks was a renowned stand-up comedian (notably), philosopher (arguably), and satirist (indubitably). He became famous for his ribald language and off-color subject matter. His greatest fame and notoriety, though, came from his ability to challenge mainstream beliefs and ideas. He has influenced the vast majority of famous and noteworthy comedians with acerbic styles in the past decade and a half. Hicks died of pancreatic cancer, which had metastasized to his liver, in 1994 at age 32.
